James Suhr & Associates LLC ("JSA") is a limited liability company formed by Jim Suhr to acquire and develop high quality infill projects in urban areas of Southern California. Jim serves as Managing Member and is responsible for overall management and development strategy including acquisition, concept, design coordination, entitlement and financing of new projects and the conduct of consulting engagements.
JSA has a focused strategy to develop and/or provide real estate advisory services for a limited number of projects each year, directly or in joint venture, in high-barrier-to-entry markets. These projects include residential, office, retail and industrial uses, with a focus on the pursuit of mixed-use solutions. Jim brings over 25 years of real estate development, acquisition, leasing and management experience in Southern California.
Jim Suhr has worked on a wide range of product types, including office, industrial, adaptive reuse, entertainment studio, mixed-use, apartments, for-sale residential, and retail projects, with specializations in acquisitions, underwriting, financing and entitlements. Jim is also a licensed California real estate broker, Lic. # 01908874
Prior to forming James Suhr & Associates in 2002, Jim worked with BRE Properties as Director of Land Acquisitions, with Newhall Land & Farming as Vice President Office Development, in corporate real estate roles with The Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros., and with The Ratkovich Company. Jim is a past President of the Westside Urban Forum , and remains actively involved as a board member of ULI/LA, Friends of Park101, and 18th Street Art Center.
